This picture is of a stop sign stuck into the ground next to a road. The post of the stop sign is perpendicular to the plane of the ground it is stuck into. Stop signs are very frequently posted along roads and at intersections. They are a nesecity to keep the traffic of cars from crashing into each other. Every driver has seen a stop sign and almost all people have seen at least one in their life.
